Virtually all spaces are covered or enclosed. The Bridge Marquee has a clear roof — rain is not a problem. The Terrace at PIER dining has retracting walls and roof. The Waterside has permanent umbrellas. The only outdoor element is the pier itself, which remains accessible in light rain and is not part of a catered event configuration.

Yes. Pier One has 189 rooms and suites, most with harbour views. Event guests receive preferential accommodation rates when booked alongside an event. Ask the events team for the current group accommodation rate when you enquire.

For hotel event rooms, yes — you can bring a cake, external florist, DJ or band. For PIER dining, a celebration cake is welcome. Live amplified music is not available at PIER dining due to the shared restaurant environment on non-exclusive nights. The team will confirm what applies to your specific booking.

Yes. The kitchen accommodates all common dietary requirements including vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free and halal, with advance notice. Provide dietary information with the final guest count, which is required 72 hours before the event.

Saturday evenings and December dates at the hotel event rooms book 6 to 18 months ahead. PIER dining formats are more available at shorter notice — 4 to 8 weeks is typical for a weekday or Sunday evening group booking. If you have a specific date, check availability sooner rather than later.

11 Hickson Road, Walsh Bay, Sydney NSW 2000 — a 10-minute walk from Wynyard or a short taxi from the city. Street parking is available on Hickson Road and in the surrounding Walsh Bay streets. The wharf is also accessible by water taxi or private boat, with a pontoon directly beneath the pier.

PIER dining takes event group bookings Tuesday to Saturday from 5.30pm for dinner. For groups of 20 or more who need a daytime format or a Monday booking, the events team can quote a minimum spend that makes the space available outside regular restaurant hours.

For lunch events: bump-in from 12pm, service runs 12.30pm to 4pm. For dinner: bump-in from 5pm, service runs 5.30pm to 10pm. Hotel event rooms can be extended on a minimum spend basis — confirm with the team when you enquire.

Set menus apply for all event formats — one food package and one beverage package are selected for the group. Final guest numbers and dietary requirements are confirmed 72 hours before the event date. Numbers can generally be reduced by up to 10% at that point without penalty; additions after confirmation are subject to kitchen availability.

For PIER dining events, full prepayment is required at booking. For hotel event rooms, a deposit is taken at the time of booking with a payment schedule confirmed in the contract. Cancellation terms are set out in the event agreement.
